Alongside training for equestrian athletes, these facilities provide students with unrivalled learning opportunities – real-world environments to apply theory to practice in workshops and seminars, as well as part of undergraduate dissertation and postgraduate research projects.
Our equine events, rider performance and equine therapy centres are also successful businesses, providing opportunities for students to gain invaluable work experience as part of or alongside their studies. These experiences enable students to develop valuable connections through our professional equine networks, and secure graduate roles.
Our facilities are used by world-class riders and horses from around the globe including international equestrian champions Charlotte Dujardin, CBE and Valegro, the Riding for Disabled, as well as amateur horse riders and owners from across the UK.
Our arenas provide an excellent teaching environment, where you can practice your riding skills as well as getting hands-on experience. They host international events, and local and regional competitions.
Our commercial yard enables you to gain a wealth of practical and work experience in all aspects of horse care and management. Depending on your course, you may be involved in the daily care of the horses.
Our Margaret Giffen Centre for Rider Performance is the most advanced rider performance centre in the world at an academic institution. It gives you the opportunity to put theory to practice.
We provide students with the opportunity to bring their horse (or horses) with them while they study. We currently have 150 stables available for student livery at Hartpury - these stables are built within eight different barns.
