City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate for Grooming Assistants

Maintaining the coat of poodle crossbreeds can be tricky for dog owners. This half day seminar will go through the grooming process step by step to enable owners to have the knowledge to maintain their dogs coat at home. The 4 hour seminar will cover the whole grooming process, from brushing out through to clipping and styling of the coat.

You will cover:

• What makes the Poodle X coat so unique?
• Correct brushing techniques and tools
• Bathing & Drying
• Clipping – lengths, styles and equipment
• Styling – head, tail and ear styles

This seminar will show you how to maintain your own dog’s coat at home and what you can expect when you take it to the groomers. This is a demonstration ‘watch only’ seminar and you will not be grooming your own pet.

However, if you are interested in putting theory into practice, there will be an afternoon workshop following the seminar where you can bring along your own poodle X dog and be guided by the tutor to achieve a full groom from start to finish.  This workshop is strictly limited to a maximum of 6 people.

Seminar: 9am-1pm £25.00 pp

Workshop: 2pm-6pm £70.00 pp

All course fees must be paid at least 4 weeks prior to the first day of the course. If we have not received full payment of course fees your place on the course cannot be guaranteed.

If you need to cancel your course, Hartpury College will refund tuition fees at the following rates: 

1. Up to 30 days prior to the course start date – full refund of tuition fees*
2. Between 30 and 14 days prior to the course start date –50% refund of tuition fees*
3. Less than 14 days’ notice – no refund of tuition fees

*an administrative fee of £50 will be deducted from the refund value.

If Hartpury postpones or cancels the course and is unable to provide an alternative date(s) any tuition fees will be refunded in full.
