The tutor who will be instructing you is a Level 3 Qualified Dog Groomer with over 12 years’ experience in the canine industry.
You will be taught in our professional dog grooming salon that is fully equipped with a wide range of equipment to support the learners training.

Will this course lead to a qualification?
On successful completion of this course, you will gain a City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants (7863-02)
Can I progress to a higher level qualification?
Yes. On completion of the Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants, you can then go on to take the City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming, although we do not currently offer this qualification. The Level 2 course is a prerequisite to the Level 3.
Entry Requirements
All candidates will be required to complete an initial assessment.
Candidates are required to meet a minimum of Level 2 in English and Maths for acceptance on the course.
Candidates must have completed the Hartpury College "Introduction to Dog Grooming" taster session or have previous experience and attend an interview with the Dog Grooming School manager. We run taster sessions throughout the year, please email doggrooming@hartpury.ac.uk for our latest availability and to book.
You must be 19+ to attend this course.
The City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants (7863-02) is a 15-day course over 7.5 weeks, comprising of practical and theory sessions.
Students are required to attend:
Practical Sessions: Sundays & Mondays - 8.30 – 17.30 for 7.5 weeks
Theory Sessions: Mondays 17:30-19:30 (in-person)
There is also an element of self-study at home for this course.

The full cost for this course is £1246. Funding is available to those who are eligible. Eligibility for any funding support can be explored following successful completion of the initial assessment. A full grooming kit bag with all the required equipment is to be purchased for £300 and is yours to keep. This includes clippers, blades, scissors and tools.
All course fees must be paid at least 4 weeks prior to the first day of the course. If we have not received full payment of course fees your place on the course cannot be guaranteed.
If you need to cancel your course, Hartpury College will refund tuition fees at the following rates:
*an administrative fee of £50 will be deducted from the refund value.
If Hartpury postpones or cancels the course and is unable to provide an alternative date(s) any tuition fees will be refunded in full.
